I never liked her until recently. I think her heart is in the right place, but the way she says stuff sometimes can make her seem like a mean-spirited bully. Anybody who adopts needy children and gives them a loving home is immediately a good person in my eyes, until proven otherwise.
Rosie O’Donnell is not a political figure by her nature. She’s an actress, a stand-up comedian, a talkshow host, a telivision panelist, award-winning author, and a broadway star. I mean, surely we can discuss her art and personality without discussing her politics? We’re all grown-ups here (I think).
There’s lots where she’s got her maw open. In fact my first search I misspelled O’Donnell with only one L. All I put in was her name and it proposed the alternative search…
I heckled her once in Tahoe in the late 70s. She was still nice in those days but I’d heard that “anybody here from New Yawk” bit one too many times and she was raggin’ on California drivers. I thought it impolitic to come all the way across the continent and trash Californians as though a Tahoe casino audience were sympathetic…
Maybe my heckling caused her to get all negative…hmmmm..
As for Tyler, loosen up the braces. I think she physically and verbally is becoming Archie Bunker… The very fact that her politics are leftish shows that I am not taking a polemic direction here. I could care less about her politics.
Sometimes, as we age, we become monstrous. It’s scary.
Weeks, a person can’t “turn” somebody gay anymore than they can “turn” somebody straight. It’s how you’re born. I think you’re a very bright person, so you should know that.
I find the phrase “skanky dykes” hilarious. I probably shouldn’t though.
And I just wanted to point out that anybody whose job it is to host talk shows, do stand-up comedy and commentary, is bound to have their picture taken while talking–it’s what they do for a living! It’s no different from Barbara Walters, Larry King, Katie Couric, or your local newsreader!
Goldberg is a smart cookie, and I daresay she knows exactly what she’s doing. Look at the spelling: “dikes”. Not having read the book, I expect a travelogue of Holland’s worst scenic features.
(Did she really write that, or is it a gag? Hmmm…a Google search tells me it’s probably a gag…)
