Without taking the reed apart you can measure:
Head width
Blade length
Scrape dimensions
Length of staple- length of wire with small right angle bend at one end carefully inserted from the bottom of the staple and 'hooked on the opposite end.
From the above figure how far the staple is inserted
You’ve just about got it all with exception of dimensions of the staple opening.
Chuck all the above and email Mr. Rogge
Good luck!
Sorry DJM, didn’t see you post.
What he said, “the source, the source!” (Is that anything like “de plane, de plane”?)

Yes, I’m quite fond of hot chilli sauce.
Sorry…I’ve got to stop this habit of stealing threads.
Cheers and a slap on my wrist,

You could try the NPU DVD ‘Heart of the Instrument’, Andreas is there, making reeds for his pipes (and then playing them like an oboe!!).
Perfect! sparkle

Did you notice Anreas didn’t even mention making staples? He just says, “Here’s a staple,” and zips on by into making the reed. Perhaps he gets them from Sears (?).
