Regulator help

Hello All,

Not too long ago I posted a question about my mainstock being stuck in the mainstock cup - I tried the freezer thing and it didn’t work. I even had my much stronger brother try to twist the thing and it didn’t budge.
This wouldn’t be that big of a deal except that - I am trying to get down to figuring out why air isn’t traveling through the mainstock to the regulators.
In this case the mainstock isn’t hollow. I honestly am not as familiar with the mechanics/ internal workings of a solid mainstock.
I have plugged the regulators in - reeded, but for some reason they won’t get air. Anyone, got an idea on why this is happening or what approach I would take to make them working again?
Thank you for your responses, they are much appreciated.

A little more information might help. Who made this set?
Also, I’m a little confused. If the mainstock is stuck in the cup, why would you use a freezer (which would necessarily shrink the circumference of your mainstock cup making the tight fit worse. . .). Gently warming the brass cup would enlarge it and ease the removal of the mainstock from the cup. . .

The best way to make putting it in the freezer work, is as follows. Freezing it for about a half hour, shrinks the stock and the cup. When removing it from the freezer, warm the cup for a minute with a hair dryer, which will expand the cup more rapidly than the stock. Immediately have one strong person grab the cup and hold firm, while a second stong person grabs the stock and twists and pulls at the same time. Shrinking everything then expanding the cup by heat will make a greater size difference than only heating the cup. Freezing without warming the cup may work, but it is better to use the combination of cold, then heat.

I have seen some makers cork the back end of the mainstock regulator bores to assure they don’t leak. Remove the mainstock from the cup and all will be revealed.

I was going to suggest that yesterday but got interrupted at work! If you can’t get the stock out, just push a pencil or similar through the holes to make sure they’re not ‘corked from behind’

Hello,

was it former a set that belonged to somebody else or was it only you who played it? This question only in case that somebody glued it into the main stock. What about to unwind it out the the bag and look from the other side? It’s not very difficult to put it back again. Five minutes and a bit of wax or glue. And have you blown through?
