Is there something different about this Gen that I’m not seeing??? :astonished:

Tery

Perhaps this special feature?

“There are six carefully engraved holes to make your music more memorable and smooth sounding.”

Susan

I can’t get the link to work.

[Edit] This link seems to work.

“There are six carefully engraved holes to make your music more memorable and smooth sounding.”

I couldn’t get the link to work either - I went to ebay and searched for “generation whistle” - it came up as the first item.

I usually give these eBay sellers the benefit of the doubt, as they don’t usually know what they’re talking about (I’ve found myself patiently explaining to one seller that he has a Russian balalaika, rather than a Greek bouzouki, and showing another that he has a mandolin rather than a lute), but this person appears to me to be stark raving mad.

At least it’s not as expensive as the LBW’s going for something like $40 or so…or rather, trying to be sold for $40. I’m not sure that anyone has actually bought one for that looney toons price.

PC

This fool must write either real estate copy or Federal statutes. (S)He doesn’t even mention size or key.

All that makes this puppy rare is that its the only one currently being sold by a BS artist.

So, Chuck, tell us what you REALLY think, please.

“Engraved” holes, hmmm? And six of them…fancy that!

Did anyone else notice that at one point the instrument is described as a “brass recorder”?

The only thing that is “rare” about this is the seller’s ignorance (or chutzpah).

Redwolf

Well, at least nobody went for it. The auction ended, 0 bids.

Tom

:swear: Incredible! :swear:

   Well, if it actually was a generation made brass recorder it would be pretty rare indeed.

I am so glad you said that. I was looking at that whistle a couple of days ago and thought I must have a lot more to learn about generation whistles as I did not know there were rare ones. Wait a minute…I have a rare one. I bought one off the shelf without being allowed to try it first and it was perfect.

When I saw “Brass Recorder”, I began to wonder if the whole thing wasn’t a spoof by a fellow-Chiffler.

I think it’s their idea of a joke. Later in the description they mention the word tin whistle, so they know what it is.Pretty funny actually.
Take care, Johnz
