It’s “Salt Air,” of which Carol Skinner posted a much lovelier version a few weeks ago. My clip is played on a tweaked Waltons Mellow D.
I sent Carol a message awhile back telling how much I was enjoying learning the music she wrote, and she insisted that I record a clip, which has been a most useful exercise. There are still quite a few things about my playing of it that I’m not satisfied with, but I’m really enjoying the process.
Please forgive the recording quality. I think it’s good enough to get a pretty good idea of what I and the whistle sound like, but it’s the best my cheap computer mic can create.
The sound quality did not sound bad on my computer.
Before I figured out how to disconnect the internal mic on my computer and plug in an external mic, my recordings sounded like I was playing in a wind tunnel.
Some Waltons have the blade edge lower in relation to the windway than most Gen-type whistles, maybe only a third or less up from the floor of the windway. (Sight into the mouth end of the mouthpiece against a bright background to see.) Those, in particular, tend to tweak up really well.
The recording sounded fine on my 'puter, and the whistle sounded good too.
Now I’m getting shamed. I’ll have to muster the courage to post a clip sometime just to contribute as well, and put to rest any suspicions that I’m just a poseur.

Nice playing, man. That’s a nice tune. I listened to it quite a few times, I still tongue almost everything and I am trying to listen and get the hang of ornamentation, etc. I may end up playing this the more I listen, I hope Carol won’t mind.
