Wow! 32 views and no replies… I guess that means I should take it back to the drawing board! ![]()
Pretty!

Yes - pretty. I liked it.
I’m not too thrilled when the B part goes up to that “G” and changes key (or mode, or whatever). It seems to tear up the mood a bit.
That was really beautiful. I like it.

Hey, I’m always a sucker for a slow air. Very nice.

Is there anything you would do differently for that part? I’m very inexperienced at the whistle (been playing for less than a week) so my skills are quite limited… everyone please feel free to offer suggestions ![]()
Thanks everyone for all the compliments!
Sound good - shame my ip is so slow and baud rate low on the old mechanical exchange it kept having to buffer!!
I enjoyed the tune. I didn’t think the high part was out of synch with the rest of the tune, but it might be easier to listen to on a lower pitched whistle, like a Bb or lower. That’s the thing with sustained high notes on a high D…They’re really high.
If you plan on keeping the tune available on line, you might want to submit it to the Clips and Snips list. Then it will become a “permanent” part of the Chiff & Fipple experience. Otherwise, the post will sink into the message board sediment and disappear. I don’t post things without a person’s permission or request. There’s an “original” tune page of compositions by C&F members. If you’d like me to post your tune, email me. whistletunes@hotmail.com

Wow, I would never have guessed you have only been playing for a week. Have you eaten or slept at all or have you just practiced your whistle all that time? Wish I sounded that good after a week (a month, a year…)- your a natural!! Keep up the good work and thanks for the clip!
By the way, what whistle did you use for the clip?
Cheryl
Wow! Thanks! I’ve been a musician for quite some time. Playing rock n roll guitar for years
Not quite the same though!!! I was really amazed at how easy the whistle is to pick up (not to even remotely clain profiency
)… I shoulda bought one years ago!!!
Sure Tony! If you think the tune is good enough to be posted on clips n snips that would be awesome! You can just copy the URL if bandwidth is an issue ![]()
Um, it’s a Walton’s D Irish Whistle… it doesn’t have the mellow printed on it so I guess it’s a regular bore one.
