PIPES ON EBAY FOR THE 3RD TIME

full set concert D on ebay for the third time, after promising to sell the to ebay bidders the 2nd time no matter what, they are now listed again, listed by bassregulator, dont waste yer time guys this one is just messing people around :imp: :imp:

Theres a buy it now of £1,700 which ill sell for......im not going to give them away nor pay ebays ridiculous £40 charge to put a reasonable reserve on them. If you want them £1,700 will secure them. You never get a bargain on ebay when it comes to quality pipes…

there was people who bid on these the last time when you said & i quote “new years resolution they must go this time” no reserve, its not about a bargain, its about people honouring what they say & ensuring the good reputation of pipers. :stuck_out_tongue:

…and you`ve never broken a new years resolution?

I don’t see any Buy It Now on your auction.

Or do you mean that you’ll cancel the auction (again) if someone offers you that much on the side?

If you want to use eBay to sell something, you really ought to read and follow their listing policies. If you don’t like their policies, there are other places to sell.

My $.02 worth.

If you don’t have a reserve price set, the buy it now option disappears as soon as the first bid is made.

The ebay rules do allow a seller to withdraw an item for any reason. The downside of this practice is that in many auctions most of the bidding action is in the last few minutes, so you don’t really know how much interest there was if you pull it with 24 hours to go.

The reserve fees are high but they are refunded if you relist and then sell it - that is probably the way to go. While it’s not excatly against the rules, pulling items with no reserve is against the spirit of the auction.

my 2c

You can always go in with another userid and place the first bid yourself. That ensures that you will at least get your minimum bid, and you won’t have to pay eBay their fee for setting a minimum bid. Its not legal of course, and you would end up paying eBay their fees if you ended up being the winning bidder. That’s a risk you’d have to decide if you want to try.

Whaaaa…??? :boggle:

I don’t see the set on ebay.
Is there a link to it by chance?

Thanks for pointing this out. There is one bid, so this is why I don’t see the “Buy It Now” button.

Not according to this notice, from http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/end_early.html

Note: Sellers are not permitted to cancel bids and end listings early in order to avoid selling an item that did not meet the desired sale price. This is considered to be reserve fee circumvention. Although there are legitimate reasons for ending a listing early, abuse of this option will be investigated.

Two bids, current one ÂŁ1.20.

Reasons for ending listings early include: the item is no longer available for sale.

The reality is you can withdraw an item from sale although you’re absoIutely correct about the reserve circumvention thing. However, I once complained about this when someone did it to me - e-bay effectively does nothing. Perhaps if you did it enough they’d ding you.

Therefore my comment that it’s against the spirit of the the rules at least.

eBAY’s success is based on Buyer and Seller cooperating and it is pretty straightforward that a listing is expected to complete short a catastrophic problem. If the Seller shows signs of setting their own rules, most Buyers respond by not bidding.

Well said - ebay has to run mainly on trust.

Actually this is a listing e-bay should be able to do something about since the seller states his intention in a published answer to pull the item if it doesn’t make 1700 pounds. And he admits his unwillingness to pay the reserve fee. :boggle:

so go on report me :stuck_out_tongue:

It seems the original post was accurate. -g

Also you can click on bid’s and see who is bidding on this auction and send them the link to this thread… I know I would want to know…

Why?, ive stated ill sell for ÂŁ1700 so as long as they go over that the listing will go to the end. I`d prefer to swap for a good condition (no ex council jobbies) Ferris 36" cut side discharge rotary mower(pedestrian) for my expanding contracts.

Thanks very much whoever the smart arse who reported me to ebay, hope you feel better for getting that off your chest. I will still however pull the listing unless i reach ÂŁ1700.

Dear bassregulator (spartanrifles@aol.com),

We would like to take this opportunity to inform you about the following eBay policy:

Reserve Fee Avoidance - Canceling bids and ending a listing early because the seller’s desired price has not been met.

Because it undermines trading integrity, eBay does not permit sellers to engage in this activity. Sellers should, instead, use the reserve price feature to
ensure that their desired sale price is reached.

We realise that you may not have been aware there is a rule against this activity so we would like to invite you to review our site policies at:

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/listing-reserve.html

Please note that our goal is to help you understand our policies to ensure successful experiences at eBay. We respectfully request that you refrain from this activity in the future to avoid possible disciplinary action against your account.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Regards,

Whoever reported you, you gotta admit, you asked for it.
