God - again with the stupid lady!

She’s not stupid. Her husband is trying to unload those pipes and he’s the one making her sit there like that. Can’t you see she’s saying “Like this, honey?”. The poor woman.

“Replacement cost about $3000.00.”

One more E-bay try before the insurance claim, maybe?

Love that picture!

I wonder, has anyone from this board actually e-mailed the seller & explained perhaps his marketing dept. needs an upgrade..?

I don’t think so, and honestly, it wouldn’t be very high on my
misplaced list of things to even remotely consider considering.

All you newbies out there in C&F land, I highly
recommend you read this first before even thinking
about purchasing such a set.

yeah, I realize it’s a low pri…however honestly now, considering the direction most of these posts eventually go, I figured someone would take the time…
Course, I’m too busy…

:boggle:

This gal and her pipes keep poping up on this forum, although I think in this particular instance, Jim did so a warning to all (on this board) who would take the bait for this product.

IMHO, I am beginning to think that these sellers have a bunch (or access to a bunch) of these critters, and are trying to unload them on the unsuspecting newbie, and in process are turning a fast buck. Of course this cannot be proven, but, I have to wonder why they would persist in trying to sell the same item again and again for the same price, when it does not sell? Ah well…

Edited - I’ve seen the error of my ways

I thought the last set sold…you remember, he had the air hose sheath covering the gap between chanter and chanter cap?

My guess is he has a couple of them, but whether just one or a few he knows exactly what he has, hence his very careful disclaimers about not knowing what he’s talking about with these ‘high quality’ pipes…

I doubt a letter would change anything. He’ll just keep relisting, claiming ignorance until they sell…

Perhaps, or maybe it is a scam from some thug… the real item having sold the first time around… naw… couldn’t be.

I think you are right JES, just check out the sellers outher items. A few more
“professional” flutes, chanters, bombards and pipes.

He knows what he is selling and where it was made, he just want to give the impression to be a newbie giving up.
A year ago there were also more than one set of pipes up for auction.

I see no point in contacting him.

Nor do I. Here’s a link to the other items… http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZstanp368

 Can’t find mine either. I was hoping you had mine.

Nearly every auction is a private sale… no history.

Yepp, but I bet “mattcelt” bought one of the “poor old little lady” sets :smiling_imp:

My guess is that Matt got even more dissapointed when he tried to play them.

/MarcusR

That’s probably why they got nailed to the wall on his local pub… right near the helmet from the 1935 Volunteer fire department.

… that’s the very list I have misplaced.

Didn’t one of the ebay efferings say the set had an “octave selector” switch? I still want to get one of those for my pipes. :stuck_out_tongue:

Feedback from a none too happy buyer some time back

Buyer marinepiper3070 ( 27) Mar-12-05 13:12 : Lies about his “not cheap bagpipes” they are crap won’t offer refund ad mislead.
Follow-up by marinepiper3070: beware his method of payment leaves ebay unable to help you Mar-12-05 15:16
Reply by stanp368: No lies. Blackwood cost 900. He chose rosewood. > 100 others are satisfied> .

100 others are satisfied …hmmmm…

Is there really that good a market out there or do bidders just feel sorry for his mum :boggle:
