Yup, building pipes for an organ. When I was a kid, I spent many hours playing the organ at St. Michael’s Church in Duluth Minnesota, and equally as many worming my way through the hundreds of tubes that made up the organs’ heart and soul… those were good days.

Offtopic: The method i use to make reeds is the same Alain use, i mean soft cane from dead standing ones, thick slips for durability and mellow sound, put staple before scrapping blades, no bed for the staple, bridle cut in angle to get symmetry(the most important word in reed making).
About the post asking for the pipes used by Liam O’flynn to play the first tune (O’Farrell welcome to Limerick) in the album the given note. Alain told me that that was a set he makes for himself, sometimes Liam ask for the set and play with it until a day Liam told Alain : I want a set like this, make me one. Finally Alain decided to sell him his own set because Liam would say, if Alain make a new set for him : yours is better than mine, so Alain sell his own set. (sorry my tarzan style english)
