Let me say first that I am brand new to uillean pipes. I bought a very cheap starter set a few months ago that I could barely get squeaks out of. My wife made me promise to only practice when she was not at home. In the mail several days ago I received a starter set that I ordered from Pat Sky. I went with Pat as I had followed his career during the folk era and knew that he made pipes. I have always loved his music. I have not learned a full scale yet but was very pleased that I could get relatively clear notes within minutes of trying on this set. I am also making progress on getting the steady sustained notes. What I first noticed about this set was the quality of the work. I know vintage banjos well and have an appreciation for hand made instruments. This set is beautifully crafted.I highly reccomend Pat Sky to anyone considering getting a set of pipes. He is a joy to communicate with and a superb craftsman.
