I just received my practice set made by Patrick Sky and I have to say that I am very impressed. The workmanship is quite nice and all seems to be working well. For anyone looking to start and wants a good budget set, I have no problem recommending a set from Mr. Sky. All the parts are in working order and the reed is working fine. The only problem is me…trying to coordinate the bag and bellows properly is not as easy as it looks. Now I am beginning to understand the saying “7 years of learning, 7 years of practicing and 7 years of playing” until you become a good piper…
I too purchased a chanter from Pat and have to second that— anyone looking for a good no-frills chanter that plays and sounds as good as any, Pat Sky is the man. Dont be fooled becasue it says “Budget”; it plays when my higher-priced chanter doesn’t.
I guess i’ve been good this year so i picked up a Pat Sky chanter with wooden top and C nat key. how does it play???
Sweeeeeeeeeeet !
