I am an 8yr. GHB player and about two years ago I purchased a half-set on ebay in an attempt to begin the Uilleann experience. Based on my experience, I sold my half-set and began my learning with whistles. I have progressed to a point where I would like to get a good practice set and start the Uilleann process again. My question is in regards to that “good” practice set. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Does anyone have experience with the Chris Dixon products? His website looks pretty good to me and I think I would rather buy something “new” with a manufacturer I could rely on for help than another “ebay” set.

Some might say your still to young ,I,ve heard some say you should not start until maybe ten or so as it,s a very phyical instrument to play but again fair play to you ,go for it

Yes, I can see how that sounded like I was 8 yrs. old. Certainly, I wish I had found piping at that age, but I’m 53.
