I used to have an LP of these two. Nice duet playing from Leitrim. Anyone know if this has been reissued on CD? I don’t know the original label as sadly, my LP collection is long gone into melted vinyl (Unintentionally).
Thanks.
Temple Records produced a compilation cd (Irish Traditional Music COMD2079) including tracks from Packie and Seamus. It was also released on Rounder Records.
Seven tracks!
Quality over quantity, is it?

Thank you, jb! These are two of my flute idols. Much appreciated.
Originally an LP on the “Topic” label - Topic 12TS339 released in 1978.
The Cork-based “Ossian” label re-released it on cassette-tape in 1992.
I’m not 100% certain, but I have a feeling I’ve seen it on CD, but that could be wishful thinking on my part. Great flute-playing in particular.
Certainly, Robin Morton released some [ but not all ] of the tracks from it on a compilation of 3 LPs. You could ask him through his website for “Temple” records. He’s very approachable.
Best I can do is this – if you go to www.MusicInScotland.com you will find this CD currently available in their catalogue for £11.99 [ this includes VAT, applicable only in Europe ].

It’s a compilation of tracks from the Duignan/Horan recording, and another Topic recording of piper/ fiddler Sean McAloon and hammered-dulcimer player John Rea.
9 of the tracks are from the original Duignan/Horan Topic release. I would say that most of the tune names – to be charitable – are not the names by which the tunes played are more commonly known. eg – Connie seems to have left the army and joined the navy!
Unless you come across a copy of the original LP, this may be the best you’ll get.
Jenny Coxon is looking into getting the John Rea/ Sean McAloon album released on CD by Robin Morton on behalf of the Cork Dulcimer Festival. Maybe someone could try the same with the Duignan/Horan recording.
Fred Finn and Peter Horan tape available here:

Packie Duignan and Seamus Horan tape is Ossian OSS 75. Ossian might still have some tapes lying around.
Does anybody know what the copyright laws are in regard to selling cd copies of out-of-print tapes?
Sure. You can’t. Legally, anyway.
Shame that.
If anybody wants CDs of these classic old records, please email me.
