OT, technically - Scoiltrad bodhran lesson?

Hey guys -

I didn’t know where to ask this as we don’t really have a bodhran forum, so I figured this is as good a place as any.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with the beginner bodhran lesson offered on Scoiltrad. I downloaded the sample whistle lesson and was a bit concerned that the audio seemed to be slightly faster than the video - made my eyes hurt trying to match the fingering with the notes. This could just be my machine but it’s only a year old, and the video card is a good one…

So. thoughts? I won’t have a chance to hang out with another drummer for about 3 weeks and I would prefer not to COMPLETELY embarrass myself… :wink: The lesson is $30. Do they often have sales/discounts?

Eldarion says in the past they’ve had a 2 for 1 deal and I’m keeping an eye out for that. I’m really enjoying the whistle lesson and have no trouble with the sound/video matching.

You might try the Mad for Trad bodhran tutorial. It’ll get ya started pretty well.

I had the Mad for Trad whistle tutorial and I didn’t much care for the interface. shrug But I emailed scoiltrad and got a very nice email back so I will probably get it at some point.
