Maybe it’s because we’re all a little older and a little softer around the edges, not to mention arthritc as all get out!
I wonder if Kevin Costner who has a casino right down the street would sue me for that! Prolly, a bunch of old ladies armed with whistles and banjos raising hell on the streets of Deadwood would be offensive to the man who dresses young women up like old time floozies for slave wages to lure the customers in!

I don’t have a suggestion for a band name, but I do have one for a tune name. How about “How Mountain Girls Can Whistle”?

“Whistlin’Dixies” (Like the Dixie Chicks)
“Banish Misfortune” (after the tune of the same name - for good luck in your battles in Deadwood!)
“Drag Her Round the Road” (after the tune of the same name - from when people met at crossroads in Ireland for dances.

How about The Zarzoff Family Band featuring Blowy,Reely,Bluey Zarzoff.Tootsy and Rootsy Zarzoff can make sure the gun tot’n outlaws of Deadwood dont cause a big stink when the trumpet solo in ring of fire is played by cousin Bernie Zarzoff on a tin whistle instead.

Funny you should post this topic Anna. On A Prairie Home Companion last night Richard Thompson was a guest. He talked about naming bands! One thing he said was it should have 7 syllables, to mee an amazing number.
Norman susggests the Blackberry Blossoms since that is a tune that crossed from Scotland to bluegrass.

there’s a tune in O’Neill’s called Blackberry Blossom which is not the same as the one played by old-time and bluegrass players.

Could be worse.. CelticGrass could refer to a bunch of long-haired kilted scotsman with glassy red eyes and a yearning for doughnuts.
