Just for fun… and maybe to give some prospective makers some good ideas, how about some creative suggestions for a whistle brand name.
I’ve noticed that very few whistles have really creative brand names, so what would you suggest if you could pick the name for a new brand of whistles?
Pacemaker.

What about ‘Brainstem.’ Yeh, I know. Not cerebral enough for you eggheads, is it?
I’m forgetting. Redwolf had a great suggestion on another thread. What about ‘Tube Thing’?

Or Molly Morone ?
For low whistle, what about ‘Freudian Slurp’.
Or for the American market …
A low whistle brand called:
Bigger
So when your session mate is bragging about his new gold plated quadruple octave diamond incrusted whistle you can simply respond ..
Yep, but mine’s Bigger.

How about a low D called Sweet ‘n’ Low? Maybe it’s been done…
I always though Silktone was a great name, until I discovered it was actually Silkstone, and the maker’s location.
For a nice quiet “don’t disturb the neighbours” whistle, how about Sussurrus?
edited for accuracy! Silkstone is where the whistle are made, not the maker’s name!

Rule #1 in branding : don’t use your last (or full) name.
Suppose you get success ; you have to re-tool, hire people, get partners. Partners get shares–you lose your name. Worse, your heirs lose their right to use it.
The examples ar so numerous…
Yep, but mine’s Bigger.

How about “Low Blow?” That way, when someone asks what you’re playing, your response can be- “that’s a Low Blow.”
