My sister-in-law Leona was killed in an automobile accicent this morning. For those so inclined I request prayer for my brother Bob and his three sons.

"The room was packed with people. It was loud and tumultuous…some were laughing in one corner, shouting at each other in another. A new year had come and not much had changed…relationships were being made, some friends, some enemies. Sometimes it was hard to tell which was which over the roar of the people in the room.

And then, someone said “A Request”.

For a long moment, the room went silent. Some paused and considered this person with compassion and pity. Some knelt. Some stood in dismay. A family has lost a mother…a wife.

And despite the laughter and arguments from a few minutes before…all the noise and confusion, the jabs, jokes and bickering…for just that long moment, the people in the room were indeed united around that one."
