I just got an email telling me that a friend’s 15 year old daughter was drowned yesterday, in a stream that was fuller than it should have been with the rain and snow we just got. I hadn’t seen them in years, but my Katherine was good friends with the daughter when we lived in NH years ago (the had since moved away as well). Katherine is a bit shaken up and upset, as can be expected. She’s never had to deal with deal so closely before.
If you could, P’s&PT’s would be appreciated for the Henry family, and for Katherine as well. Thanks everyone.
Boy, I just don’t know anymore. I can’t imagine what that family must be going through. Just hearing something like this about a total stranger is disturbing, so I can imagine that your daughter, who had been friends with the girl, would be feeling quite strange and upset. I’m really so sorry that such a thing has happened.
Thanks everyone. I can only imagine the pain the family is going through right now.
I had to edit my post above…it turned out that they had actually moved and weren’t in NH at all anymore. It’s kind of sad to me…our daughters had been close, and yet I wasn’t aware they they had moved.
I can’t even imagine what that family must be going through…the mind just shies away from it. And your daughter must be heartbroken. All of you will be in our prayers.
Ah, me… another youngster’s death… so sorry to hear. I guess I do know what you and your daughter and the girl’s family are going through… time will help, but it sure does so slowly.
May peace be upon the shoulders wracked with pain. May tears wash away all bitterness and make future vision most clear. May memories rise to brighten the hearts that now are enfolded in sorrow. May all the souls involved find solace in eachother.
Your friend’s have my deepest sympathies, and of course my prayers. As the mother of a 15yo boy and 16yo girl I shudder to think what they’re going through right now.
I am so sorry. I lost my own daughter to drowning, and by a miracle I was there in time to get her back. Every time I hear about a drowning I wish so hard for the minutes to reverse so that she could get another breath, and another, and for someone to be there at that critical moment to rescue her.
My prayers for this family and for yours. Just breathing for them all.
When I was a kid, we lived in duarte, south. calif, and had, of course, a swimming pool. I couldn’t swim yet, and fell into the pool on various occasions. My Mom, and even my 2y older brother jumped in to rescue me. Damn, I would have drowned quite often!
It’s weird, I can remember one incident, falling into the water, i reached for a ball that was swimming on the surface, leaned over a bit too far and fell in. The strange thing about me was that the momemt I hit the water my mind and memory switched off, I never fought or screamed or anything like that. I just sank to the bottom of the pool and waited to be rescued. lol
Life is weird.
Izzy, how’s Katherine doing? And you? It is so hard for anyone to deal with the sudden loss of a loved one, and it is terribly hard on parents to watch their own children suffer such a loss. I have you uppermost in my heart right now.
