Personally I’ve had the same reed in my chanter since the early Neolithic, and it’s survived continental drift, asteroid collisions, the Black Death, and several Tory and Republican administrations. I attribute this to having soaked the cane in the blood of the giant sloth, Megatherium. I’m sorry they’re now extinct, but you do what you have to do to keep playing.
