“Ancient 10th century manuscript discovered in the attic of a deceased recluse Irish piper.”
Piper, Patrick sky discovered the manuscript while digging through the rubbish in the attic of deceased piper Seamus O’Toole. Upon reading the manuscript he discovered that it contained a fourth ancient strain of Irish music. The discovery has created a whirlwind in the Irish music world. Many religious musicians have refuted the manuscript, but the evidence is there and Dublin college has given its Imprimatur.
We’ve all heard of the “goltrai,” or strain of weeping; the “geantrai,” the strain of merriment; and lastly the suantrai, or sleep-strain. The newly discovered forth strain, contained, in the manuscript, is the “shtetrai" which, according to the manuscript, could only be performed by the most advanced very bad Irish pipers. Hearing the "shtetrai” forced one to run for the loo. It appears that the “sh*tetrai” is the only strain that has survived until modern times as evidenced the breaking up of many fine sessions.
