Hi! I saw Blayne Chastain’s website highly recommended and it is great, but I’m trying to use the “sweet midi” app to slow down a song and it says the file is unsupported and won’t download it. I was just wondering if anyone else has come across this and figured out how to slow songs down from his website recently.

Where is this song? Do you have the file saved on your computer? If so, you can slow it down in a bunch of different ways. I’d probably recommend downloading VLC Media Player (which is free) and playing it slow on there.
Alternatively, is the song you want slowed down on YouTube? Then it’s even easier. Just set the speed lower while playing the video on YouTube (select “Playback speed” in the settings menu).
I’m not sure what “sweet midi” is, but it sounds like it’s for midi files, which are a very specific file format that almost no modern music uses.
Sweet midi is the player app recommended by the website, the song is Cooley’s Reel and I’m trying to play it like him so I’d really like to slow down the mp3 file he has. I can try the VLC player you recommended. Thx!
I was looking at the recommended media player but couldn’t tell if it would work for what I needed so I googled it and found the Perfect Tempo app that cost a few $, but in 2 minutes I had the song file where it needed to be and slowed down. It was really easy to use even for this tech challenged person
