Dear folks, I have decided to sell my Keyless Olwell. It’s a great flute, Pratten, blackwood, no slide. I never felt the need for the slide, and the fear of having the fully lined head crack made me decide to buy the unlined flute. The tenon does allow for adjustment, but I really never had the need, and I do play with other musicians. I got it from Patrick about 6 months ago, after waiting a year and 3-4 months for it.
The reason for selling it is that half the tunes we play require keys, and I find that I play my keyed McGee 99% of the time even though I do like the Olwell at least as much.
The flute is great, and of course I would take it back in a heart beat should it not meet expectations.
It cost me around $700 with the shipping.
I am going to list it on ebay, but wanted list members to get a first chance.
I was hoping to get around $750 for the flute. I have turned protective Delrin tenon sleeves for this flute.
I’d be happy to send pictures upon request.
All the best, eilam.
eilam - I tried to check out the pix but the secure page asked my email address and password. No can do! Another pix or site?
BillG
Sorry BillG, send me an email at eilambyle@aol.com, and I’ll return one with a picture, I’ve been trying to load a picture, but have not figured out how yet.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated
all the best, eilam.
Hey, no fair Eilam: I’M sell an Olwell this week! Wait your turn man, sheesh… Heh heh, just kidding man, I’m sure someone will snap that up in no time - I know I would under different circumstances.
How’s Ojai this time of year? I’m heading west (in lovely Colby, Kansas at the moment) and not sure if I’ll stop when I hit the Rockies, might keep going all the way to the coast…
Will send you an e-mail.
Cheers,
Loren
Hi Loren, believe me it was a hard decision and move to make, I know you like your flute as well.
Ojai is a beautiful small town nested in a valley, about 7000 people, maybe 15000 in the whole Ojai Valley. I would not really know about the work situation, were kind of doing our own thing (home schooling our 3 kids, and woodworking), See if you can
find something about the company Patagonia which would be a great place to work,
and is right on the beach (10 miles from here).
Definitely come visit if your in the area.
All the best, eilam.
Thanks Eilam,
I am familiar with Patagonia, great company to work for, but I didn’t realize they were in your area. I’ll check out their website for job opportunities. Thanks.
Loren
Thanks for the inquiries, the flute is soled.
All the best, e.
Bummer Better than soiled, I guess?
