For Sale: Keyless Olwell Flute

Hi everybody,

I am selling a keyless Olwell flute that was made for me by Patrick in 2001. It is blackwood with silver mounts and has a lined headjoint. It is in great condition, as, quite honestly, it has not been played as much as it should in the past several years.

Please send me a message if you are interested. I can provide pics and discuss price.

Thank you.

Is it a pratten, nicholson, rudall? Thanks.

You sneak! You’ve been holding out on us! :stuck_out_tongue:

"Is it a pratten, nicholson, rudall? Thanks. Jim Stone.

I don’t think it matters Jim, just grab it -or it’ll be gone this time tomorrow

Ha, Cathy! Yes, I have been holding out… I’m one of those uilleann pipers who wishes he could play the flute like Mick, Ivan and many others… and like you, Cathy! Alas, it just isn’t in the cards.

Thanks for all of the messages about the flute. I promise to answer all of them and send a few pics out. Work has been a little crazy, and I am also recovering from the Northeast Tionol! Whew!! Thanks to all of you on this forum who attended, by the way.

So, my Olwell flute is a Pratten model. Now, I need to get back to the messages that have come in about it. Thanks for the interest.

Bowling Green…
hey good old Bowling Green

That’s just made my day!

I’ve handled and played this flute several times and can say it’s a gem. It has all the character of a classic Olwell Pratten model and is made of some really lovely grenadilla (african blackwood) that has a deep dark brown cast to it.

Hello everyone,

My Olwell flute is going to a new home. Thanks to all of you who wrote to enquire about it, and thanks Bill for your comments.

All the best, Skip
