Okay, wow -- FS: Abells, Reyburn, Water Weasel, Mandolin

I’m cleaning house.

Reyburn wide-bore low D. In-line holes. Comes with original pouch. SOLD.

Mandolin is $500 new, case and books and stuff are worth over $100. Will sell the whole thing for $450. Perfect learner’s setup!

PM if interested.

Thanks!

I’ll take Water Weasel )

Bump.

Eb? Why Eb?

Just curious.

Because that’s what I have?

I actually came into the Eb kind of incidentally. It was part of a larger trade.

Okay, got to be too much. The Weasel is now on eBay, item number 290042428738.

I have a WW Eb and it is a very nice Whistle. Very powerful. Satisfying to play, without too much back pressure. One can really lean into it, but won’t get a headache trying to play it.

Is that mando the middle one in this picture (from the Michael Kelly website)?

If so, it looks like now it’s closer to $715 new… quite the deal, folks!

That is the mandolin in question, though mine has a different finish (the top is natural, and the back and sides are sort of a reddish finish). I did not pay $715 for it (though that does seem to be the current going rate). I paid right at $500 for it, but this is not the A-solid shown in the picture–the label on the inside reads “A-plus” very clearly.

Bump again.

Sorry, another bump.

Out of curiosity, what is the number on the Abell set?

  1. It’s a fairly recent set. I’m the only owner, ordered them straight from Mr. Abell.

Nobody wants an Abell?

Chris typically doesn’t have a long waiting list for his soprano whistles (3 months or so any time I’ve checked), so you may not get too many bites as long as you’re asking the same price as he sells for new, fwiw.

Drop the price by $100 for the set, and you might start to get some nibbles. (I’ve already got an Abell Eb/D/C set that I’m quite happy with, so I’ve got no vested interest in getting you to lower your price) I’m having to do the same thing with a flute I’m selling over on the flute board.

Good luck with the sale.

Loren

Alright. I didn’t realize his waiting list was so short. I waited nearly a year for the set, so I assumed he still had a bit of a list. Price lowered.

Well, don’t take my word for it (I mean that!), because I haven’t checked recently - If his waiting list is a currently a year or longer, then I’d say your original asking price is fair - whether it will sell at that price I don’t know, but for your own benefit, I’d contact Chris and ask what the current wait is for a set like you have. If I’m way off, you might be better to put them up on ebay and stick to your original price.

Loren

I e-mailed him already. I appreciate the heads up.

I have a C/D Abell set on order and was told 3 - 4 months but most likely 3. That was a month and 1/2 ago.

Thanks. I think I’ll leave the price at $500, then.
