Look no further than Bill Ochs. http://www.chiffandfipple.com/billochs.htm

He teaches at the Irish Arts Center in NY: http://www.irishartscenter.org/index.htm

I’ve had lessons with Mr. Ochs on the two occasions I’ve been to New York, and he’s an all-around wonderful person with an inspiring love of the music. There are several others on the board who’ve taken his workshops and had lessons.

Have fun,

Cara

cara, you Rawk
2 rounds on me :pint:

Free beer? I’m there.

You should certainly try to get in contact with Seth Gallagher, he’s a pipe and flute maker from north of New York, fairly close, though, I believe. I’ve got a flute on order from him…

I currently take lessons with Bill Ochs and stongly recommend him. He’s even tolerant of musically inept students like me  I’ve taken a couple of his whistle classes as well so I can vouch for the quality of those as well. He teaches them at the Irish Arts Center in NYC.

If you are more advanced, I hear that Mike Rafferty teaches in NJ.
