After unseasonably dry conditions and high temperatures, it is finally snowing in Minneapolis. We are expecting one big dump of maybe as much as 14 to 16 inches which in traditional MN terms ain’t that much, but with the way things have been going, we’ve grown soft. Anyway, it’s pretty if you’re not shovelling it. Meanwhile:
Here is a pic taken today of local hipsters being ironically outdoorsy.
I was pretending I was Sisyphus for a day. Shovel a bit, turn around and notice the path is covered again.
Hope to flop down and make a snow angel in the next day or so.
My own efforts to give away snow were met with no takers.
The Weather looks like it could freeze under the wet snow, the road crews are on it but it could be a slippery mess. Either way people always seem to forget how to drive in the snow.
I hope my front stairs are not covered in ice by the morning.
We who must clear it might hope, though. Lost a bolt on the snowblower’s chute during the 3rd go at it; fortunately a friend with a plow truck was available to do a quick sweep of the parking lot. Now the chute’s fixed, and I’ll drag the behemoth up from the basement yet again and finish the job and, importantly, get between the cars where the snow is up to the knee. I need a stable of shovel monkeys.
