You guys are lagging. West Coast Gathering has 125 posts. ![]()
Tony
thatās because New England is so relatively inaccessible to we Mid-Atlantics.
Canāt throw in the post support.
Iām open any weekend in July, and also June 19/20. But will Arleen be well enough by June 19 for Jerry to make it? Maybe we could give them a couple more weeks.
Robin
I would vote for the weekend of July 24/25.
Gives more time for planning.
I guess now the big question is, "How many will come if it is held on the weekend of July 24/25?
Suppose it would be wise to let Bloomie know either here or PM.
I sure hope this works.
Mike
Go back to your own neighboorhood Higgins, we donāt need no west coasters around Heayah.
Loren
Without checking my PDA, I think it works for me.
Iām pencilling in the date of Julyā¦someone send me a heads up if it changes, as Iām not signed on as much as I used to be
I have a question⦠Doesnāt Boston have a High Irish Population? Where are all the Bostonian Whistlers at??? Whats up witāt dat?
OK-- if the July 24/25 weekend is good for most people, what about location? Someone care to start a poll thread, or perhaps a simple vote right here on this thread.
Long as weāre at it, I vote for the Albany NY area. There are several nice state parks with covered pavillions, or a number of brewpubs that might have semi-private space large enough to hold us on a Sunday afternoon. In addition, there are many interesting things to see and do if people want to arrive the day before the event.
That said, Iām still willing to travel 2-3 hr to be a part of this, which from here includes NYC, Boston, Montreal, and anyplace in between!
Isnāt that during East Durham? If so, I vote for there. Or certainly somewhere in NY so I can come. ![]()
Unfortunately thatās the Summer NAMM show dates for Michael and I. we may have to hold a sympathetic gathering down South! We hope to run into some friends in the Nashville area once again.
Jim
Hmph! ![]()
I vote for Look Park, as itās halfway between here and Albany. Albany is doable but at the outer limits, as itās about a 3 hour drive from here, and if I came to Albany it would have to start early enough for me to get back at a reasonable hour (reasonable for a 39 year old, not a 19 year old!!
). Northampton would allow for more potential for early evening activities, in my case, at least.
Robin
Well Jessie, you used to be a local there! We have to depend on Terry Briley and others.
Oh, I guess weāll have to head due North one of these days!
Jim
Iāll start a new topic. My vote is for somwhere in the tri-state how bout near NYC. ![]()
how bout near NYC.
yes
I would have to look at the actual location, but I think about the furthest I could travel would be western Massachusetts, and even that would be a stretch. Iām in upstate New York, about 40 miles North of Syracuse.
Best wishes,
Jerry
P.S. Iāve been offline for the last nine days because of a problem with my computer, in case anyone was wondering why I had disappeared.
Western Mass is fine with me, especially if it means Jerry could make it. The Berkshires are really beautiful. Other nearby things to do/see include the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, and Tanglewood in Lenox. Slowair-- what do you know about possible locations for us to meet? Does the brewpub in Pittsfield have a semi-private room we might use? Parks?
Iām a little confused here.
I thought that the majority of people agreed on Northampton, MA. And that Bloomy had put out the dates of July 24/25?
He is already in the process of ironing out the details. I think.
So why is it that people are trying to get it moved or whatever?
If this kinda confusion keeps up, there wonāt be a gathering.
So letās try to stay with Northampton on the weekend of July 24/25. Bloomy will let us know what he comes up with as far as place, events and day/time. If itās successful, then we can have others and move them around so that everyone eventually gets a chance to go.
Canāt please everyone.
Mike
Iāll try to make it. Iām in NYC (Queens) about 4 hours from Boston. Is Northampton north or south of Boston?
