Winter Chiff Gathering (Already???)

Need to start making plans, you know. Early November??? My mom is fine with having it at her house once again. (SF Bay Area California) We need to figure out which weekend will be free for the most people. Later, we’ll discuss the menu.

Some of you lamers have missed out twice. Here’s chance #3. Don’t mess it up.
Tony

Early November sounds good to me.

You look different somehow in that new picture, Tony. :stuck_out_tongue:

Justine

Justine,

Heard a recording or two of you playing at the last gathering, that’s some mighty playing! Did you improve while in Ireland?

Thanks! Well, I must say I got in a lot of practicing in Ireland. Probably Avanutria can tell you too about the good sessions in Glenccolmcille. I got a chance to meet up with so many musicians, it was unbelievable.

We had lots of good tunes at that last gathering.
Are you coming to the next one, Azalin?

J.

I’ll try to make it, if my son hasn’t wandered off to Texas by then–and if I haven’t. It was great fun last time.

Well, since I’ll be in Ireland for 2 1/2 weeks in november (Jack will probably join me there!), I really doubt it. Add to this a week in Cuba just before going to Ireland and my potential time off is depleted :frowning:

I’ll probably be going in Seattle next march for Friday Harbor, see you there?

Justine was very fun to play with as well as with the friends she brought.

Thanks for reminding me of “lamers,” Tone, I hadn’t heard that in a LONG time…

I was wondering about that. At the last gathering, he looked like this:

I’d love to make it to another gathering, but I will have to see if it is possible to desert my homework for a weekend. At this point, it is looking like school will be prohibitive for me, but you never know. Maybe, just maybe…crosses fingers

Did you get my CD, O’Karina ?

Azalin’s looking different too…

Really? You haven’t seen me in the morning when I just woke up!

What’s Friday Harbor? I’m not planning any trips to Seattle as far as I know…How about coming out to S.F. for the next February tionol?

Where are you going in Ireland? Sounds fun, except I hear the weather’s pretty bad then. I’ve only been to Irelad in the Summer.

J.

Friday Harbor is an annual multiday music camp held at an Island about 40 minutes north of Seattle. Murphystout, Karina and Azalin attended last March.

Dia dhuit, Ava!

Hmmm…Eoin O’ Neill! Sounds fun…I’ll have to think about this…

J.

Dia 's Maire dhuit, a fheadogin!

Well, since this IS about a November gathering…

Our house is on the market right now. Our goal is to be packed and gone the first weekend of November, but…

if we happen to still be in the area and not going crazy with preparations for moving we just might find our way down there.

Considering that, and I realize my vote means little at this point, the first weekend would be best for us.

So will you still be NorCal, or maybe SouWyo, or what?

Okay, we have one vote for first week of Nov. Now, on to the menu…

I should be back to my normal self by then. I’ve pretty much kicked the mustard gorging habit. Now, if I can break the sleep-walking down to Jack-in-the-Box for greasy super-tacos disorder. I only know about it because of the wrappers and the heartburn in the morning. And the dog licking my lips.

Our house is on the market right now. Our goal is to be packed and gone the first weekend of November, but…

Steven, my sister sold her place in Clear Lake and moved out a couple of weeks ago. This past weekend, the property (not the house) went up in flames along with a bunch of neighbors’ properties. (No houses lost, from what I heard.) Was it close to you?

And, what’s with this “I’m afraid I’ll be in Ireland that weekend,” everytime we plan a get together? Is that like, “I can’t go out with you this weekend, I have to wash my hair?”
Tony

Well, I’ll definitely go in California at one point, the question is when. I’ll make sure we have a major gathering when I go

Yeah I’ve been in Ireland 7-8 times and mostly during summer time, I went once in december and the weather was scary. But november is better for me (also going with Moxy, and Jack might join us) because there are no tourists and a great festival in Ennis. It’s also cheaper. The EURO is killing me.
