do I have to respond twice or is once enough?
Twice if you and Gunther both come…
Well, I’ll be there!
Charlene and I will both be there. Bringing along a lot of assorted instruments: Mandolin, Fiddle, Flute, and maybe a whistle or two…
So, what’chall going to play? (Since attendance would be a longshot for me–perhaps I can play the recommended tunes at traffic lights on the way home from PA, as a show of solidarity.)
It’s a Small, Small World. And the battle theme from Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.
Dang. I only know Jabba the Hutt’s theme.
I will probably be there.
I plan to be there. I don’t know yet if anyone will accompany me, but there are possibilities. I’m going to try and find my orange shirt; it seemd to have worked well last year.
Will Paul be bringing along his concertina ?? Is he still interested in instructional books for that instrument ??
I don’t really care if Bloomfield OR Gunther shows up, just so long as one of them brings the big tool box full of pipes.

Tyghress,
Is there alot of walking… places to sit down..I am recouping from a severe leg infection..and using a cane…so walking isn’t that good right now.
Rene
Rene, I don’t know the answer, but do you think one of those new-fangled camp chairs would help? We keep them for hurricanes–they’re really comfortable. Better than lawn chairs. They pop open and provide good seating with a high back you can lean into. If you had a picnic cooler, you could put your legs up.
I’ve seen excellent ones at places like Bed, Bath, and Beyond. They’re not terribly expensive, either–your basic model is only 7.99.
Here’s a somewhat alarming ergonomic version. ![]()

I’m still pretty poor on the concertina, but I’ll bring it if anyone thinks they’d like to try it out. If you have books, I’d be curious to see them.
Hey, we ought to get some of those stick on “Hello, my name is…” labels so we can put our C&F names on them along with our real ones. I’ll pick up a pack if people like the idea.
Rene-- I think there will be places to sit. If you do come PLEASE bring some knives to show off! Gorgeous work.
Rene, DON’T bring the knives! Please don’t bring the knives…I’m weak willed and in love with Damascus steel.
I don’t think there is much in the way of seating…so if there is something you can bring we will certainly move it here to there and back so you can be where the action is.
Hope to see you again…
Tyg
I hope to be there..my walking has been terrible…if I can make it I will bring a chair..just in case…it will be nice seeing you again…Tyg. ![]()
Paul, thanks for the kind words…if my knives are Gorgeous..then your whistles are SPECTAULAR! ![]()
Roy - Bring the knives - I collect, am a ABA member, and would love to see them; if you’re interested in anything particular, maybe I could bring something for you to ogle as well.
Didn’t realize it was in CT; just passed through on our most recent college tour up to Maine and CT.
Hope to see you all.
Regards,
Philo

P.S. Will the parking lot be close to the picnic gathering spot ?? I may bring an armless chair along with my guitar, gig bag, cooler, etc.
I am looking forward meeting you all!
If there is any interest, I will see if I can bring down some Healy fifes from the shop - just let me know!
Of course, I have my own flutes…and maybe even a whistle or two!!
Peach
Yes, there is a decent sized parking lot on the property…I’ll bring a camp chair or two. I figure I won’t unpack my car from the muster at Deep River on Saturday, just restock the cooler and move on.
