Northeast Whistle Gathering 15 Day Reminder

Yes! Everyone bring any and all instruments. Should make for an interesting show-and-tell, plus some great session playing.

How do you all feel about non-chiffers coming? I’m not talking spouses…I mean other musicians from the area?

Works for me! I’ve met some of your “other musicians” and they’re great. Besides, we may be able to turn them to the dark side…

Gee Tyg, I thought you already had asked the locals. I talked to Walt when all this was just getting off the ground and he was going to see if you’d invite the local seisiun players to join us. Last years was awesome, but it was just a bunch whistle playing at once.

We would love to put together a seisiun, so definitely ask them to join us.

BUT THEY MUST BRING THEIR INSTRUMENTS!!!

Mike

Someone contacted me off the board saying that she had some instruments she’d like to sell and was wondering if it would be OK to bring them to the gathering. She didn’t want to impose on Walt’s good nature, etc.
I don’t see a problem with this, in fact maybe a ‘swap meet’ table would be a welcome addition to the gathering. We could all label our instruments with price and name, and interested buyers could find the seller and make the transaction. Any thoughts on this?

Would this apply to just whistles?

I’ve got a two row button accordion I know I’m never gonna pick up. It’s like new.

I think a swap table is a great idea.

Mike

I’d say any instrument is fair game. We all accumulate stuff that we eventually realize we’ll never play-- why not let someone else enjoy them?

I got some stuff to put on that table…

I will also bring my Mandolin along with my large Whistle and Flute collection.

Mike, this link didn’t work this morning.
Could you re-post the details such as time and travel directions to Walt’s?

Walt has sent me messages with the same observation, yet I have no trouble following the link.

It may be a problem with the board software or something, but I am not having a problem linking.

Try cutting and pasting the url. I just did it from your message above, after clearing my temporary internet files, so the page is there and working.

Here it is again.
