Auction ended. One minute left when I discovered it. I missed the bid by probably 10 seconds. This can’t be Lark’s Pakistani stuff can it?

it looks like one of larks flutes, not sure if it’s pakistani though. the pakistani ones are usually keyless and the workmanship is visibly shoddy

they retail for $375 at lark in the morning

I owned one of those. Pakistani, all right (if you pull out the lined support tray there’s Urdu newsprint below it). It’s now on the wall looking pretty with some other deceased instruments in a montage (it cracked). By the time I learned to play a RR design, I couldn’t get a note out of the Lark flute that another friend has. Takes a lot of air to drive it; how on earth I ever made mine work is beyond me! Still, not a bad stick entirely; intonation is decent, but it has a limited response and an unusually large embouchure hole. I recall paying around $500.00USD for mine. The bores tend to be in need of a good polishing. FWIW, I wouldn’t go back to it.

Junk. Be glad you didn’t buy it. I may be going to Pakistan later this year. I’ll bet these can be bought on the street for $50 or even less. I’ll take names and orders and sell these flutes at my cost as a favor to people on this list.
The real favor will be that I won’t fill the orders.

I went to lark in the morning yesterday and played the one they had there and it would make a decent lamp or table leg…
