E bay Pakistani flutes

Hi there, Just a simple question are these flutes that crop up on e-bay any use? Or do they belong in the bin with the Pakistani Uilleann pipes?
Thanks guys
Pol.

Perhaps some of what westerners find strange in Eastern tonal systems is merely a result of faulty manufacturing in Pakistan !

I’d run far, far away from these flutes. You might find one or two in 10 to be playable, and some here on the board have such rarities, but they’re not common, and even then they’r prone to cracking.

Jayhawk, have you successfully grown the extra digits for the 8 holes yet?

They do make nice desk lamps though… Jon

Monster - not yet. My wife keeps buying non-irradiated food which is slowing the process…

Actually some of the Pakistani flutes that have been rebored and revoiced by Rod Cameron are pretty good flutes. I have one that I use when I’m on the road hard and for use in pick-up softball games.

But then, even a broomstick rebored & revoiced by Rod Cameron would sound great.

Ya know if you guys keep this up I will have to buy one of these darned things

Tom

Buy mine, buy mine… Rod Cameron voiced, tuned, and rebored. Like new condition, five or so years old.
$400 + $20 shipping, 3 day trial, full refund, shipping ¢ on you…
I haven’t ever advertised it for sale but could use the dough.

Sorry David, but I just used all my tip money on a matched pair of single keyed wooden flutes on ebay. Next on my list is either a CB Folk Flute or a A-415 baroque flute from Luc. Besides Iw`m not that courious about them things.
