I received my new M&E R/R from Michael Cronnolly yesterday! I really like this flute. It just feels so comfortable to hold and play. The embouchure hole is smaller than my other flute, so it took a while to get used to that, but once I found the sweet spot, it really came alive!
Exciting. I went back and checked your earlier post when you said it was shipping. Then I figured Michael told me mine was shipping yesterday, so I am thinking…less than a week til it arrives. I can hardly wait.
Excellent! Have you been down to the session in Bethesda on Wednesdays? I saw it advertised on this forum, and a friend of mine who plays mandolin and I were thinking of checking it out. I’ll likely be taking my whistle, since the flute is new to me.
I was pretty surprised it only took 6 days for it to get all the way accross the “pond” and most of the way accross the US since I live in a suburb of Phoenix, AZ.
Glad to hear you got it so soon. I’m wondering how it compares to my M&E. Unfortunately I won’t get to the session at Fibbers for another two weeks. At least there will be one flute among the bodhrans.
I am loving it. Loving it. I am thinking of adding keys eventually, do you have keys on yours? I may just wait to get a McGee with keys though, if/when I feel I’m good enough to warrant spending that kind of money.
No keys on my M&E. I may eventually get some added, but for now I’m just working keyless. The chart of cross fingerings for the accidentals on the M&E site works quite well.
