Several people have emailed me about the new Rudall style M&E, I thought it would be helpful to post a little recording of the instrument. Its just a clean recording, no EQ, no effects.
I like it so much I opted to protect it with one of David Migoya’s fine leather flute cases.
By the way, I haven’t seen many posting about the flute cases David sells on his website, but they are really something to behold, a true object of beauty. Mine has the black leather.
Xavier,
After listening to that clip, it should be perfectly clear why I didn’t post a clip of my M&E.
Michael gets beautiful tone out of his.
If you heard me playing something, you would have gotten a completely different impression of the flute, and probably canceled your order post haste.
Hope you get yours soon, And I realy hope you can make it sound as good as Michael does.
Cheers,
jb
Thats really nice Michael! Great sound! Now I have to go back to twiddling my thumbs..
John, Mr Cronnolly sent mine this Monday so I probably won’t have to wait too much now. I’m sure I have to work much more on my overall technique to sound half-good though Anyway, have fun playing with your M&E R&R!
Great sound sample of the M&E Rudall flute! Say, I went looking for this new flute at the M&E website but did not see it listed there. Do you know where can I get information about it?
Michael Cronnolly told me that anyone wanting the Rudall model just has to request it when they order a flute. I believe that it has the same price as his standard model, but best to check with him first.
I’d love to hear a side by side clip of the same person playing both Michael’s old flute, then one with the split front embouchure, and then the R&R copy.
I have a keyless split-front, and a six key with split-front, and don’t really think I can justify the R&R copy in addition.
I also have a Seery, which, quite honestly, doesn’t get the play it deserves.
