New Forum for Irish & UK Dulcimer players .

Bringing Irish & UK Dulcimer players together.

The NEW - ‘Dulcimer Player’s Forum’ (UK & Ireland)

Attention all Irish & UK Dulcimer players!

You will know that for all matters of a specific Dulcimer nature we have that excellent one-stop website - ‘EverythingDulcimer’ where we can sort out all of our playing & instrument problems etc etc However, there hasn’t been a similar type of Forum for us folks on this side of the Pond … until now!

My on-going Poll, over at ‘Everything Dulcimer’, revealed that only a tiny fraction of active members on that forum are actually from over here, but l do know there are many active enthusiasts over here too, which made me wonder who solves their music & playing problems for them!
Many of them, I’m sure, probably live a long way from the next Dulcimer player, so, in an effort to encourage more contact and hopefully spread the Dulcimer word over here, I am trying to start up this new Dulcimer forum.

I hope all you Dulcimer players out there in the UK & Ireland in particular, but also anywhere else in Europe too, plus of course any of our Dulcimer friends across the pond, will agree that this venture is a worthy cause & trot along to sign up & give it your support.

Incidentally, I had a bad experience when trying to get another Trad music forum off the ground here, from the dreaded SPAMMERS, so I have tried to nail this one down, pretty tightly, which may put some people off, but hopefully enough of the more dedicated & persistent Dulcimer enthusiasts will follow through the register & assesment process to help me establish a useful vehicle for the promotion of our beloved Dulcimers in Europe.

N. B. The new forum may also prove to be a useful tool for any Dulcimer players who are trying to organise a tour over here!
Thanks
‘Ptarmigan’

So what do you think?

I know we all have this trusty site to sort out our tune questions & much more, but you must admit, Dulcimer players are rather thin on the ground here!

Do you think a European Dulcimer Specific Forum might be useful?

If so, I look forward to meeting up with you, over there.

P.S. Spacers might like to know that there is now a ‘Dulcimer Players Forum’ - MySpace!
