(Jumping up and down with excitement) I love it! It’s a beautiful whistle with some of the best craftmanship I’ve ever seen. It still sounds like I’m strangling weasels in teh upper registers, but that’s me, not the whistles, and until I get used to it, which I better FAST…considering I’ll be busking all day tomorrow…it has a sweetness that I love! This may put an end to my WhOA! Erik makes a beautiful instrument that I am sure I’ll cherish for the rest of my life! It was utterly fatastic to receive the gift of music during this insecure and terrible time. It was also awesome to be part of last night’s whistle circle, even though I was crying so hard I could hardly play! I love you all! Thanks for making the world a much better place! (BTW, Mick, you gonna get one too?
Congratulations on receiving a fine looking instrument. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM—what about the Generation in the other post. Is it time for Boot Hill? Or have you forgotten about it already?
I have never heard a Tully whistle, so I guess you will have to post a sound clip.I hope owning such a fine silver whistle, that it doesn’t tarnish your reputation. The city fathers agreed to let you play a Generation on the street, but silver, you may look to rich to them to let you play on the street.

Ah, Mark, I’ve got this sentimental attachment to my Generation D. I think I may have found the problem, so this whistle will not get deep-sixed in favor of the Tully on Mt. Moriah. Erik has some dynamite clips on his site, which was the deciding factor in buying one! His craftsmanship is amazing! Actually, tomorrow I will be playing the Tully, just songs like “America the Beautiful,” “Battle Hymn of the Republic,” etc. Nobody was talking on the streets of Deadwood today, and the slot zombies were crawling from casino to casino. I sat and played “Amazing Grace” at the trolley stop most of the morning, and was really choked up, and so were some tourists from Germany.
Anna! I can’t believe it arrived now,I didn’t think any pkgs were getting thru at this time. Maybe there’s hope for mine yet.
I figured it would be held up for sure now with postal authorities suspecting a pipe bomb! Gm

Ms. Mousey, it was sitting in the Lead SD post office for a week! I saw it on the postmark. I kid you not! I hope you get yours soon and love it as much as I do! I’m nuts about this whistle! Erik is a joy to deal with!
To all-- please choose your words carefully during these trying times. It was reported that various ISP are providing access to emails to the FBI. Please choose your words carefully. And don’t mention what was mention in the above post. Everybody is on razor edge.

Good news!
Perfect timing indeed - should turn a few heads in the streets of Deadwood! I’m sure it is a beautiful whistle and, Anna, I know that you can eradicate those weasels, if you try really hard! ![]()

With you as my shining example, you know those weasels will be gone soon!
Seems I can’t stop playing those patriotic songs, like “America the Beautiful.” For your sake, I am refraining from the national anthem and “God Save the Queen!” LOL! I have some new lyrics for that one, too! “King George he had a date, he stayed out very late, Queen Mary paced the floor, King George came home at four, she met him at the door, God save the King.”
I’m hoping I can recover from my WhOA and my atrocious parodies and purile sense of humor!
You are a pretty special guy, Mick. Thank heaven for beautiful souls like yours and Whistlesmiths like Erik!

When your head turns into a giant strawberry, then I’ll believe it!

ROTFL! You got me fair and square, Mick, m’boy!
You are too kind, Anna!
Me too:

Peace,

Anna,
I’ve been to Eric’s site and it is indeed impressive. Which fipple did you choose and why?
I’ve been considering one of Eric’s whistles for a while. Just haven’t taken the plunge yet. Your opinion may just make me jump! ![]()

MLK, I thought I wanted the plastic one, because of weather conditions here, but Erik suggested to me that the impregnanted wood would hold up to anything South Dakota weather could offer. The wood is lovely. I’m still stangling weasels, and a few are whimpering, but that is the player getting used to the new instrument. This whistle is so beautiful, I’m happy looking at it even if I can’t play it! The tone is so very pretty! Erik was a joy to deal with, too. I’m hoping this one cures my WhOA, at least for expensive whistles!
Erik! Too kind? I don’t think so! BTW, where’s the pic, your Panache interview will be running next issue, and I’ll post the URL for everyone here! In the middle of all the grief and numbness, a beautiful whistle arrived in my life…I consider that FM (Freekin’ Miraculous)that such a lovely music maker entered my life just when I needed it! I’m not going to run that Strawberry head pic, either, because it’s MICK!

Anna, perhaps I missed it but I don’t think you mentioned which Tully model you recieved - did you choose the session or soliliquoy model? In any case, how loud is your Tully compared to other whisltes you own?

I got the session model, and it’s on a par with my Generation D, and stays strong in all octaves. The weasels are slowly going away as my whistle and I get used to each other, also go the oxidized finish…
Anna,
Your heartfelt description of this whistle fills me not with envy but wonder.
Could you kindly post (or re-post) Eric’s website?
and tomorrow, give’em all you got!

Here ya go, Darlin’! http://www.tullberg.com/tully/
be sure to check out the sound clips!
Our music festival was cancelled for the day but I’ll be playing anyhow! A little girl tried to give me her last 11 cents…ain’t that something?
Erik’s whistle is special, really, and the arrival of such a beauty of a whistle right now, with just the potential to make a joyful noise (once the weasels move out!)is purely amazing!

Let it shine!
