Hey, guys, it’s happening here in the Black Hills! Rich Rose, the Irish mando player who used to do Beginner’s Sessions in Seattle, me and the whistle, a fiddler, some college kids, and Hank Freidel with his concertina and Steve Thorpe, went to the first organizational meeting of the BHSU University/Community Irish Traditional Music Society. We actually played some session tunes, a few I didn’t know, got my hands on the book of Irish tunes from the Seattle sessions, and we’re gonna make music here. We’ve got the Bay Leaf every week on Tuesday, so young people can come, at 6PM for supper and music at 7! Hey, give us a year we’ll have a great Black Hills Session. I gotta call Ingrid and let her know, we’re going to Spearfish every damn week! It’s happening! I thought it would never ever happen! Ever! But it is!
HUGS! Wahoooie!

Funny thing, at the end as we were breaking up, I asked people for pebbles. Rich countered with, “Anna, you are the only woman I’ve ever met who within five minutes is asking a guy for his stones!” Nobody got it! Cracked me up!
We’re a study group now, but we got the venue, and everything we need to be a real session, soon!
YES! YES!
YAY!

Gave a few Megs away, and had the privilege of whating the lightbulb go on when a young woman took a whistle (she was a sax player) and was toodling a bit by the end of the “session” we played Boys from Blue Hill, Fanny Power, and Maggie in the Woods, and it wasn’t bad! Not kidding!
Oh, I gotta catch up on learning session tunes!
