The City Council held a special hearing, and local musicians will be allowed to busk during the Deadwood Jam weekend! Whee! I’ll be out there with my whistle and a few Clarke SweeTones for the kids that are facinated by the whistle! It would be so nice if they would consider a license and let us play all summer! I went to the hearing and was suprised, no fuss no muss, just a simple vote and that was that! My buddy, Steve, said he expected me to show up and start calling the council all sorts of Nazi-Fascists, but I didn’t!

It’s always surprising when town and city councils make sensible decisions, but it was lucky for them that they did so in this case, I think. Happy busking Anna - give it all you’ve got! Hehehee.
I’m related to half of the people on the town council, so I sent back the good word.
I’m happy that it worked out.
Peace,
Erik
p.s. I’m just kidding. Now had you been in Custer, I am related to half of the people on the council. LOL! Yes folks. South Dakota is a small state. 750,000 people, so more than likely, if you live there you know everyone by name.
GOOD FOR YOU!
It is still too bad that we have to “ask”.
Busking should not have to be either allowed or forbidden…in the Land of the Free.
Be sure to tell us all about that cool weekend Jam. Sure sounds like a good time.
A picture sounds good. We have an extra room. Will you be staying with us during the interview or do you prefer a hotel to provide a modicum of journalistic separation? Heidelberg is a pretty place in the fall

I can see the headline now! “Hometown Boy Makes Good as Internationally Famous Whistle-Maker” Hate to admit it, but I get away with some of the most jaundiced journalism ever! As for the interview, how’s about I mail you some questions? Heidelberg sounds like a dream, an impossible dream, but maybe someday! Besides, my German is embarrassing. How’s about Bilbao?

Yeah, you know I’m going to feel awful when you can’t stand your whistle. New headline: “International Elite Journalist Strikes Terror in the Hearts Of Town Council and Debunked Whistlemaker.”

Huh?
Sun, sea, sand…no resemblence to either Heidleberg or South Dakota! Tain’t the whistle, Erik, it’s the whistler! I am sure I’ll love it, once I figure out the eccentricities of it! I’m eagerly awaiting it, and will let you know (and the entire forum) when it gets here!
