Wiley’s really become a part of the family in the past several months! He’s even made peace with the cat! And you’d never know about the terrible injury to his hip and knee unless you felt under the fur on the right leg, where his thigh is still very atrophied (it will probably always be weak, but at least now he’s free of pain, and able to run and play like a normal dog). I took a few pictures last week, and just got around to uploading them to the net:

Oh, that picture of Wiley trying to get Jonah to play is so funny. One of my kitties needs someone rambunctious to play with but, unfortunately, she does not like dogs. Otherwise I would suggest a play date for Wiley and Flora. I’m sure glad Wiley is doing so well—I remember you telling us about his difficulties when you first got him. I’m so glad he found a new home.
That’s where we were about five years ago. When we got Jonah, he was a rambunctious little kitten and our dog, Cedar, was 13 years old and blind. Poor Jonah would do everything he could think of to get Cedar to play with him. What was really funny was when he’d do that arch-backed sideways jump that kittens do, and poor old Cedar would just stand there, oblivious (reminded me of that scene in “Butterflies Are Free” where Goldie Hawn’s character flashes the blind guy and, of course, he doesn’t even blink)
We brought Wiley home and Jonah’s first reaction was “My God…this one can SEE me!”
