Are there still music schools like “The Flowing Tide” in Doonbeg in Ireland where a person can go for a week or so and concentrate their learning of one particular instrument? Any information or tips on this topic would be greatly appreciated. Happy New Year to all.
Does the Flowing Tide still exist?

I’m not sure – all I’ve seen is efforts to keep in open in the face of bad economic times.
I should add that what I mean is not something like Willie Week but rather a place for one-on-one instruction.
I don’t think FT’s downfall was caused by the recession.
The Boghill Centre does music courses occasionally, probably not one to one.
Can’t think of anything residential I’d recommend (which doesn’t mean there isn’t any, just I can’t think of anything right now), year round stuff anyway. Some places do courses like you’re looking for but only maybe once a year. Tuition can often be arranged with individual musicians but then that again wouldn’t be residential.
Thanks.
Come for a week to Killarney Co Kerry,I’m sure these guys can do something for you and they have two fine pipers that teach . Plenty of music around the town and some of the best scenery in Ireland.
