Does anyone happen to know of other music hostig sites, that are willing to make CD’s for folks that are similar to mp3.com?
In looking into putting together a CD from the recent Great Rocky Mountain Session, this has been a thought. The trouble with mp3.com, is it had gotten quite expensive, for both the consumer, and especially the ARTISTS! So I’m just looking fo alternatives.
Thanks for any insight

Brian,
You might want to check with you local copy shops, like kinko’s. Alot of them have gotten high speed CD duplicators and will make copies of CD’s for a couple of dollars each. They even offer to print labels on them etc. Check with them to see what services they provide.
Of course you could also invest in a newer CDR drive (16x or 24x or 32x CDR speeds, internal IDE under $100) and make your own copies. If you’re making several copies of a CD, the software puts an image on your harddrive and just copies them to the blank CD’s. The copies on a 16x take about 2-5 minutes each. Your local office supply should have labels you print on your printer. I recently made 20 copies of a data CD in an hour, including printing the jewel case insert card and a label on the actual CD. It actually took longer to design the label and insert the way I liked it than to actually produce the CD’s.
CDR drives have gotten pretty cheap especially since the DVD-R drives are out and going for less than $400.
Just a couple of suggestions to help you share how you …
Wait a sec, are you making your own version of a Rocky Mountain CD?
