Hmmm…anybody want to put coin on a suspicion that Bloo, not your lad to pass on an opportunity for grandiloquy, is cooking up a Magnum Opus again?
So, you lost, is all.
It’s as playing craps: a combination just busts you, but its apocalyptical count is 5, or 55, or–God forbid!–555.
Ha! your (old) nick is at ban,
Just as your city, confusing hay and hats,
And Bologna for Colonia–what an odour–
Armoricans win whilst your nationality is a loss!
Time for a deeeeep breath, everybody.
Hee, hee!
Lorenzo, have you tried Beano? ![]()
A lady from old Ch’cago, IL
Sought to script a small lay for a thrill;
Dactylic’s a snap,
Iambic can rap,
That non-consonant’s worth? Nil.
I know, I know. But you try it.
Carol
Plaudits to Carol! That bit of rhyming was doubly bound, and it did work. Too much constraint for moi.

continuing taunts
For a start, Zoob, I think you try too hard at imitating Jim’s prosody, although it’s got a darling sort of quality to it, in all. As to a confusion of hay and hats, I don’t know what you would imply; I always saw hats and hay to stand on mutual ground. So much for Gallic fashion tyranny. And parfum? I sport my own natural funky pong, thank you. Bologna is for posturing clods and oafs; stylish MPLS folk know that it’s way cool to do with natural, organic bodily functions for that. Armoricans, to contrast, do not. The whiff of snails is far too out of hand, don’t you think? ![]()
concluding taunts for now

Actually, Lixnaw, this is all in good fun…and this bunch of posts has a point to it! ![]()
But I’ll back off.

Truly said.
Lorenzo, have you tried Beano?
B*ano? No. is that some kind of new bore oil? ![]()
Pursuant to my last topic, I wish to call a moratorium on posts containing a particularly odious non-consonant - most common symbol in our script, in fact. I shall do my utmost to avoid this linguistic and typographical blight and I trust that many of my co-flutists will rally to my call.
Hardly an original notion, I know. A chap did, I am told, script a full book in which this disgusting mark did not occur. I want only to push his outstanding work forward. Work which, as you will soon grasp as you follow in his footprints, brings many a difficulty and many a thrill as you burrow far into our fair Anglo-Saxon idiom.
Talk to this guy:

This is a hilarious grouping of posts! I’m laughing my butt off! Actually, it occurs that this would amount to a fantastic writing drill, which I might assign to an aspiring author as a way of slowing his writing rhythm, thus promoting thoughtful composition. But, can you think of anything that would bring irritation as quickly as working on a long post, scrupulously avoiding this particularly common typographical unit, this non-consonant singularity, only to spoil it at the end—entirely—with egregious editing error after egregious editing error, giving entry to several instances of the offending “e”? Twenty, to be exact. Oh, make that twenty-three. No! Twenty-seven! Wait……
I can’t stand this any longer. Look, I did it, too.
Aaaaargh!
PS musicall politicians–Harry Truman, piano.
Bill Clinton, Sax, others too, but the monicas
contain the dreaded non-consonant. Oh, God,
I’ve caught the bug…Halp!
Poor Jim.
Sigh. Sniff. Pass a hanky my way, if you don’t mind.

Bologna (or do you say Baloony?)! I am not in any way irritating Jim’s unrhyming philo-sophisms!
In such sport, Jim’s our champion–and two would count a crowd.
Think of it, how could I match him, in four-odd paragraphs for all?
A Jim is a Jim is a gym. Now, talking of odour…
Armoricans, to contrast, do not. Th***** whiff of snails is far too out of hand, don’t you think?
Probably, if you had snailfish with us, and thought that small aluminium pouch with a lime pics was a Brittanic sort of biscuit! Just know from now it’s for washing. Or is it you forgot our madams on port quays carry no such thoughtful gifts? It’s a sad thing, but tourists know little and may hit old fish (aka “tuna” as it’s known in our area). ![]()
Anyway, you lost, you poor dropout of a Millwhacky soporific taunting wimp! ![]()

AAARGHHH!!!
…but I’ll do a Lazarus trick, oh, I will…just wait.
…(aka “tuna” as it’s known in our ar*a).
O most gracious Zubivka, I tip my hat to you for your kind tactic! Now I may again play at will.
HA. ![]()

How so? Rumor has it that Bill Clinton was also a virtuoso at (har, har) 'monica. ![]()
