‘Aving just come to the U of a particularly fairy bubble, I crashed down onto me kangaroo and waited for the Dutch to bring me me tiddly. Ahh! “That’s fairisle!” I thought. And then, as ‘appens a hopping pot, me bacon turned to stewed prunes.
I was thinking about those walnut whiplets wot they were on about over on the suit forum. It must have been plastered all over me boat, ‘cos the ol’ trouble gives me a bit of a butchers an’ ses “’Ere. ‘S no good stayin’ there all Patrick Swayze all night. Wot jew take me for? A Toby? Nah, get them bangers aht an’ put them Christmas elves up!”
Meanwhile the prunes kept hip-hopping into me ol’ Uncle Ned and, before I knew it, there I was wiv me paradiddle givin’ it some an’ ‘avin’ a right good ‘Arry of it, I can tell you!
She’s not bubbling in my direction this day’s dawning … and now I’m on me Pat …
All I could dare to think I was reading, was something about the wife giving you a look and telling you to stop doing something and do something else. And then you playing the fiddle. Maybe?
And I don’t mind telling you that the only reason I got that far was because the subject’s come up before on the Boards here, so I’ve had a wee bit of exposure to the concept. Otherwise it’s as foreign to me as Russian.
Having just come to the end (U-bend =end) of a particularly tough (fairy nuff = tough) week (bubble and squeak), I crashed down onto my couch (kangaroo pouch) and waited for my wife (Dutch = Duchess of Fife = Wife) to bring me a drink (tiddlywink). Ahh! “That’s better (fairisle sweater)!” I thought. And then, as happens a lot (hopping pot) my mind (bacon rind) turned to [thoughts of] tunes (stewed prunes).
I was thinking about those triplets (walnut whip = trip) that they were talking about over on the flute (suit, back formation from whistle and flute = suit) forum. It must have been written all over my face (boat race), because my wife (trouble and strife) gave me a look (butcher’s hook) and said “Here. It’s no good staying there lazing (Patrick Swayze = lazy) all night. What do you take me for? A mug (Toby jug)? Now, get the trash (bangers and mash) out and put those shelves (Christmas elves) up!”
Meanwhile the tunes (prunes) kept popping (hip-hopping) into my head (Uncle Ned) and, before I knew it, there I was with my fiddle (paradiddle) playing away in a lively fashion (givin’ it some) and having a good time (Harry Lime) of it, I can tell you!
She’s not speaking (bubbling = bubble and squeak = speak + ing) to me (in my direction) this morning (day’s dawning) and now I’m on my own (Pat Malone) …
