Mo Mhuirnin Ban is on P. 66 of “Traditional Slow Airs of Ireland” by Tomas O Canainn…my current favorite tune book.

While we’re on the subject, can someone tell me:

A. How to pronounce it (“Mo Mhuirnin Ban,” that is)

and

B. What does it mean?

I don’t know how to pronounce it, but it translates to “My Fair Darling” or “My Darling”

Oh, I see! Often gets transliterated (transphonemed??) as “mavourneen,” I bet.

I’ll get Gaelic phonics down someday, I hope! :wink:

I learnt ‘Liam O’Raghallaigh’ by ear from ‘Feadoga Stain’ and play it on a Generation ‘F’. The tune is only a ‘spit away’ from ‘The Star of the County Down’
