Hi everybody! Just thought I’d introduce myself. My name is Robyn and I just started playing whistle a week ago (but I’ve been intending to learn for several months now). I already have two whistles because a friend bought me the first one (a Feadog) and then felt so bad that I couldn’t get a good sound out of it that he bought me another (a Clarke original). WhOA strikes fast, doesn’t it?
That’s all for now. I’m sure I’ll have questions later, but right now I’m just trying to figure out the basics.

P.S. You guys are a lot nicer than clarinet players.
Well, maybe clarinet players who are whistle players are nice, and clarinet players who aren’t whistle players are just jealous of the clarinet players who are whistle players…or something.
And though the idea of claiming my whistles are lousy to get more for free is wonderfully clever, I don’t think I had better try. He made sure to play this one so he knows it’s good.
Clarineticists (sp?) are “SERIOUS MUSICIANS”. We, on the other hand, play an unpretentious little instrument consisting of a simple tube with six holes in it. We also believe in crystalline space aliens. Mostly we just don’t take ourselves all that seriously.
Contrary to popular opinion, C&F is not an asylum. We just play one on the internet.
