Can anyone tell me who made Michael McGoldrick’s pipes specifically the set played on Kid on the Mountain in Transatlantic Sessions

If I remember he said it was a Marcus Coulter stick but I’m not sure who made the drones and regs. I had a go of the chanter at the NWUP tionol in 2009 and it was mighty fine

He was using a Williams set. Certainly the drones and regulators. He could be using a different chanter these days.

Yep the chanter’s one of mine and the rest was made by Dave Williams.

Hi Marcus ,was the stop key added later ? Don’t remember it being there when I played it but it could have been. Troy D said you were staying with him recently. Going to see him with the Bad Shepherds on Friday.

Thanks, I’m glad you liked it. Yes and no really. Since the new boxwood chanter just had a plain top - Mike swapped wind caps with an earlier blackwood chanter I’d made him.

Troy’s a star, had a cracking time visiting! Enjoy the gig and get him to show you a magic trick or two..

Aaah that explains it :thumbsup: Troy is one of the most talented musicians I know. Definitely up there with the best . Magic on the pipes or just plain magic ? He does one for sure the other I’m yet to see. :smiley:
