Hello,
My deceased husband owned 6 Michael Copeland Pennywhistles and 1 Michael Burke Pennywhistle which he purchased new around 2002. I will be listing them on Ebay in the next week if anyone is interested in looking at them. The Copeland Pennywhistles have not been played since 2011 when Bill died, and are a bit tarnished. I have directions for cleaning them, which I will include with the whistles. Since I am not familiar with them, I will not try to clean them in case I accidentally harm them. I have a photo to attach, but this is my first post and I do not see how to attach a photo. My name on Ebay is farmgirl.573 The chart below shows the number engraved on each Pennywhistle, the length, and the color. Thanks, Gloria Corley
PENNYWHISTLE Serial# LENGTH-INCHES COLOR
Burke LOW G 04/2004 17.5 SILVER
COPELAND A 2610 15 BRASS
COPELAND Bb 2569 14 BRASS
COPELAND C 2766 12.5 BRASS
COPELAND D 2635 22.5 BRASS
COPELAND D 2732 11.25 BRASS
COPELAND Eb 2780 10.5 BRASS
Nice collection. I understand that you don’t want to clean them off, but you may want to mention in your ad whether the tuning slides are still functional or seized. Head and body joint should counter-rotate with a relatively gentle twist. Also, the longer Copeland D is probably a “low D” as well, and much more desirable.
Hello Latticino,
Thanks for your condolences and the advice about the tuning slides. I checked and all the tuning slides easily counter rotate.
I have only listed the A on Ebay to see what the response is, and it has been great. I have been getting private emails of interest about the whistles.
I have sold the High D and Bb privately to people from this list who contacted me.
I hope for all of these whistles to go to good homes. My email is gcorley@gmail.com if anyone has questions about the whistles.
Thanks again for your help!
Gloria
Hello , if I can just add , that if you open your Ebay advertisement to the world , it may add a few bids to your whistles. I am in Ireland but cannot see your whistles in Ebay.ie.
It was only through this site I became aware of the whistles.
