As much as I have said I never would, I am ready to sell two of my Copeland Whistles. Both of these have rarely been used and are about 7 years old. I bought them as back up to my trusty reg brass D of 15 years, but I just think it is time to find a good home and get them played.
First is a Low D in Brass with the wind block.
Second is a reg D in Nickel.
I have not set the price yet, however i have been reviewing this site and I think I have a reasonable idea. (ie not to sound crass but please do not offer to take them off my hands for $50.) If you are interested and are serious please contact me. I can provide pictures.

So I had a chance this morning to look at the warning post about a scammers selling high end whistles. I must say I am sure the forum’s hackles are up and I should be expecting to hear the “burn the witch” chants soon. I apologize for the insensitivity of my posting. Yes, I am a new member, hello all. I have read the forum on and off for a number of years. Recently to follow the life of Mr Copeland. I too suffered from the obsession to over collect whistles. Like McCain, I would need a staff to count them and get back to you on their numbers. My obsession started about 16 years ago when I found my first Copeland in the display case in Lark in the Morning in Mendocino. It brought back memories of childhood when I picked up what must have been a Clark and fell in love. Unfortunately then my family promptly put me in flute lessons and discarded the Clark. That is a long story I will not get into right now.
So Yes I have two Copelands that I would like to sell. The low D is too big for me and I prefer my low A. The nickel high D, I bought as a back up in case I ever lost my first Copeland. I have found I just never needed a back up and it has sat in a case all these years without being played. It has maybe 5 hours of play time on it. Neither instrument has a single blemish or scratch. They both look exactly like the day they showed up from Michael.
I would like to sell them here on this forum because I feel this is the best place to find people that can really appreciate these instruments. I would prefer this to a craigs list or e-bay because I have had too many experiences with people trying to take advantage of people.
In reflection of the warning posted, I would like to propose two ideas. First I would be willing to allow the community to set a fair value for these two instruments. I will be posting pictures later today.
Second, I would be willing to work through a trusted agent to hold and evaluate the instruments prior to money trading hands. I would suggest one of the members of this forum. Your pick. Heck you can even pick who should buy them with my main constraint that they get played and appreciated. I know that there is a long list of deserving people on the waiting list for these and that they may never get one given the situation with Michael.
Let me know your thoughts. This is an odd way to work but, if the details can be worked out two Copelands can have a new home.
Steve Miller. No not that Steve Miller.
Ok so images cannot be uploaded. If you would like me to e-mail images of these whistles please send me an e-mail and I will forward them.

Steve, pictures need to be uploaded to one of the image hosting sites like Image Shack or Photobucket first. Then you can post the link or the picture in your thread. If you check out the “Test Forum” there is “guide to posting images” right on top that explains the how-to really well.
BTW, welcome to the Chiff. If I wasn’t low on instrument funds right now I’d love to make you an offer on the nickel D Copeland. ![]()
Jkrazy.
Thank you for the suggestion. I will check it out and see if I can get an upload going.
On the upside, reading the Chiff has prompted my to pick up my whistle and start to play again. I have been on a 2 year break since I lost my playing companions to relocations.
Take care
Steve
Lets see if this works.

Hello all.
Thank you for your interest and suggestions.
I want to let you know that Doc Jones and I have come to a purchase agreement. He has agreed to find them good homes. The whistles will be working their way to Idaho this weekend. I suspect you will see them on his site in the near future.
Take care and Thank you.
