Just to remind those still around that the last NWUP meeting of 2005 will be this Wednesday at St Catherine’s.
Mince pies will be on hand to create a festive atmosphere.
The session at The Welcome has restarted if you fancy a few tunes afterwards.
Another important piece of news is that the Tionól/Piping Day will be on Saturday 25th February at Manchester Town Hall.
We have secured the services of Tiarnan O’Duinnchinn who will be teaching during the day and playing a concert in the evening at St. Catherine’s. I’ll put some information about Tiarnan, including some sound files to download, on the NWUP website in the near future.
Alan Burton will be running reed making workshops.
There will also be a pipes taster session where members of the public can just turn up and strap in.
We will get more information out as soon as further decisions are made. Itinerary and what we are charging will be decided at next Wednesdays meeting. If you want to express your opinion on cost, itinerary etc. and will not be at the meeting please get in touch or use the NWUP web forum.
On Saturday night we will be running a concert featuring Tiarnan and some of our local Manchester talent. The usual Saturday night Irish session will still be at the Angler.
If you want to get involved in organising these events why not come to the North West Uilleann Pipers meetings. A lot of work goes on before hand and by the time information is posted publicly, we usually have thing fairly decided.
There is also the NWUP web forum where people who cannot attend meetings can have an input at an early stage.
