Looking to personally sample some whistles: Overton Burke MK

Alright, I’ve already filled this C&F forum with signs aplenty of my lunacy and acute WhOA. I live in Nashville Tennessee and I want to try these whistles: A Burke low, and an Overton low. By “low” I mean any whistle from low D to low F. I just need to try these whistle makes, I’m not picky about the key. If you have one of these whistles and you are in this area, I really want to see what it’s all about. If, by some off chance, there is also someone around with an MK, I would like to try that too.

I am on my summer break, SO I WILL MAKE TRIPS. If you live within two to three hours of Nashville, I am most likely desperate enough to make a trip out to try one of these whistles. I’ll probably bring a friend to make the trip go by quicker and to make the meeting more secure. I am going into my senior year at Belmont University, and I am spending the majority of the summer here in Nashville. PM or email me if you are in the area and are willing to let your whistles be taken for a thorough test drive!

I just checked and there’s a Celtic festival at the Travellers Rest Plantation this weekend. I’d suggest you go out there and check if anyone has one of the whistles you’re looking for (and will let you try them).

All I did was google “celtic festival nashville”, BTW…

A fair proposition! I may look into that.

However, my request still stands, just in case there is nothing at the festival and just in case there is someone out there.

Ok, I looked into it. Are you referring to this? http://nashvillecitypaper.com/content/lifestyles/celtic-festival-kicks-saturday

It’s dated June 15, 2001.

We are indeed very close to the anniversary of this festival.
